Apple is reportedly seeking an iOS 10.3 beta update on January 10. Sonny Dickson, a renowned tipster, made the revelation via Twitter over the weekend.
The update will feature an all-new Theater mode. It looks like a popcorn-shaped icon in the control center of iPhones and iPads. What is it for and how does it work? Read on to find out more about Apple’s newest tech tool.
iOS 10.3 beta: Theater mode
Apple fans will get new mobile features that may become handy in cinemas. The Theater mode offers a single button for the following:
1. Dimming the screens of your devices
2. Muting the audios and notification sounds
Per iDownload Blog, if Dickson’s assumptions are true, then mobile phones will become acceptable in theaters.
On the other hand, the Theater mode is somehow related to an optimized video viewing approach. Dickson believes otherwise and stressed that it is rather a form of enhanced Dark mode. For their part, Apple users slammed the new upgrade. They said that smartphones and tablets should say out of a cinema.
iOS 10.3 beta versus iOS 10.2.1
For a growing number of users, there is likely more interest for the iOS 10.2.1 than the iOS 10.3. The former contains a fix for the 30 percent bug which has been annoying to iPhone 5 to 6S owners. Actually, even the Chinese are grumpy.
According to Forbes, whether iOS 10.2.1 can repair the issue or not is a huge gamble. Nonetheless, one thing remains certain: Apple is aggressive in delivering iOS 10 updates. The 10.3 version is already the eighth update in just four months.
If this course continues, Apple might have 24 iOS 10 updates before iOS 11 debuts in September 2017. Dickson later revealed that iOS 10.3 develops under the codename of “Erie”.
