Acer makes one of the best gaming setups in the business. The company has been making gaming laptops for years now, but their latest gadget has been rightly called by many as “monstrous”. The Predator 21 X price tag is equally monstrous as well.
The gargantuan 21-inch laptop commands an $8999 price tag; that money can buy you three top-tier laptops, with all the extra trimmings. Acer pushes the boundaries of technology once again with this laptop. Do the specs justify the $9000 asking price? Let’s find out.

Predator 21 X price worth it?
Acer went all out on this one. The Acer Predator 21 is jam-packed with all the latest tech and gizmos every serious gamers dream of having. The laptop has a 21-inch IPS display, with a 2560 x 1080 resolution. That’s full HD, in layman’s term.
Acer designed the laptop for gamers, so don’t expect a sleek and thin design. In fact, tech fans called the design aesthetics as “hideous”. Rough edges and big black and silver lines cover the entire laptop. The device resembles those big, shock proof laptops used by the military. No one will buy this laptop for its looks, even though the absurdity of this beast will definitely net you some curious glances if you bring it to the local coffee shop.

Forget about lugging this laptop to your buddy’s house. The Acer Predator 21 weight a whopping 17.6lbs. Gamers won’t be carrying this laptop in their backpacks. The Predator 21 is definitely meant to be a stationary setup; placed on a stable desk or perhaps connected to an external 4K display at home.
Acer built a veritable juggernaut here. The laptop runs on TWO NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 X graphics cards; the highest tier video card there is. Predator 21 X is powered by the latest 7th generation Kaby Lake processor.
The Intel Core i7 variant comes standard with the base model. Acer pushed the ceiling further with four DDR4 slots which support up to 64GB of RAM and can handle up to four 512GB SSD storage. Predator 21 comes with a standard 2TB hard drive.
With all these specs, the $9000 price tag is fully justified. Nevertheless, one questions the real need for such a big beast. Especially when there are other sufficiently capable gaming laptops out there. Ones that don’t weigh 20lbs.
