Though there’s no denying the popularity of Apple’s AirPods, other contenders in the wireless earbuds market are still capable of holding their own. One such competitor is the Anker Zolo Liberty+, a pair of wireless earphones that are worth looking into, especially with its selection of noteworthy features.
Anker Zolo Liberty+ Wireless Earbuds: Specs
The Zolo Liberty+ makes use of Bluetooth 5.0, which gives it a fairly substantial connectivity range. The earbuds only have two buttons — one on each earbud — that can be used for a plethora of controls. This includes commands such as pause, play, next song, and previous song. The buttons also allow for answering phone calls, voice-assistant-summoning, and sound isolation toggling. Notably, however, volume control is missing from these controls.
In terms of sound quality, the Zolo Liberty+ is able to deliver adequate audio with well-balanced sound. It’s worth noting, though, that the Zolo Liberty+’s audio still has room for improvement. This is most especially so when compared to the Apple AirPods. There is also some lagging when it comes to watching videos, though this is fairly common with most wireless earphones as well.
Silicone ear tips and GripFit jackets are included with the Zolo Liberty+. With this, the earbuds provide comfort when worn and fit snugly in the ears. Besides staying in place, the wireless earphones also have an IPX rating of 5, making them water resistant.
Perhaps the greatest strength of the Zolo Liberty+ lies in its battery life. While its battery can last for 3.5 hours — which is fairly standard amongst other wireless earphones — its charging case is capable of providing an additional 48 hours of battery life. In this aspect, this puts the Zolo Liberty+ ahead of other competitors, as it boasts of having what may be the longest battery life of any set of wireless earphones thus far. This might not come as much of a surprise, considering Anker’s history in the USB power bank market.
Additionally, the Zolo Liberty+ supports both Android and iOS with its free Zolo Life app. The app supplies additional functionality, as it provides the same controls and features that are operated via the earbuds themselves. The app also boasts of the Anti-Loss feature, which alerts you when the earbuds’ signal connection is weak. This comes in handy, as it can inform you whenever you may be too far from a connected device.
Anker Zolo Liberty+ Wireless Earbuds: Price
The Zolo Liberty+ wireless earbuds cost $150, which make it a step cheaper than the Apple AirPods. There is also the more affordable alternative in the Zolo Liberty, which comes with all the same features sans sound isolation and the use of Bluetooth 5.0. The Zolo Liberty makes use of Bluetooth 4.2 instead.
