Apple Music’s Carpool Karaoke series reportedly found its James Corden replacement. While it is hard to imagine someone else hosting The Late, Late Show segment, the first task of Apple was, in fact, to find the one to do just that. However, there have been reports that “the one” Apple was looking for is actually a group of people.
Who will be the hosts of the series then? Read on to find out.
Carpool Karaoke series: Not somebody, but somebodies
According to eOnline, executive producer Ben Winston revealed that they will be having 16 episodes. So, the series will have 16 different hosts as well. While the full list of hosts is not yet revealed, the teaser clips featured the following:
- John Legend and Alicia Keys
- Ariana Grande and Seth MacFarlane
- Billy Eichner and Metallica
- Blake Shelton and Chelsea Handler
- James Smith and, well, Corden
Moreover, the first pair will also have a special appearance from Taraji P. Henson. Fellow executive producer Eric Pankowski noted the reason why they opted for different hosts.
“It was a pretty quick decision,” he said. Corden, Pankowski added, plays it so special and unique that it was silly to try to replicate it. Per the same source, Corden himself came up with the idea of pairing celebrity hosts.
For the record, Chelsea Handler and Blake Shelton both came and volunteered. They mutually said that they would love to do the show together. Basically, Apple Music’s reason was simply to make the series a little bit of everything.
Who will be the featured artists in the Carpool Karaoke series?
On Sunday night, Bustle reported that the teaser aired at the 2017 Grammys. In it, the cardboard car carried more stars than ever. The stars were the following:
- Jennifer Lopez
- John Legend
- Jason Derulo
- Faith Hill
- Tim McGraw
- Neil Diamond
- Ryan Tedder
They were singing the words to Sweet Caroline, Blue Ivy suddenly stepped on stage and joined the crew. Jay-Z and Beyonce’s young daughter really made her way over to the iconic cardboard car. Her reason, reportedly, is to simply join in the “fun” and sing along too.
Of course, the squad welcomed her with arms opened wide. Nevertheless, it is official that Blue ivy is a certified Karaoke fan. There is no particular release date for the Apple Music series but it may arrive anytime soon from now.
