Halo Wars 2 Review: Might Be The Best Halo Game Released

By on

Microsoft Studios had just released Halo Wars 2 and the game has received positive reviews from early players. The Halo series has remained popular since its first release on Nov. 15, 2001, and still remains as one of the best first-person shooting game across all platforms. Here’s a Halo Wars 2 review that might prove that it might be the best Halo game released.

According to Kotaku, the controls of Halo Wars 2 worked almost flawlessly with the Xbox One controller like its prequel. Players would notice that in the first five minutes after the tutorial, every control and movement would be precise. Players would not encounter any problems in almost everything, from moving the camera angle up to group selecting units.

Although Microsoft maintained the smoothness of the controls in Xbox One, PC users still have more freedom in customizing the sensitivity of the controls. Aside from changing the mouse sensitivity in-game, PC users can adjust the DPI of their mouse via its settings. Aside from the controls, PC users would have access to higher frame-rates since Microsoft has limited the Xbox One version.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Halo Wars 2 has shown the epic space drama that it promised in its trailer. Aside from the plot featured in campaign mode, Halo Wars 2 offers the best music compared to previous Halo games. Meanwhile, the cinematics provided by Blur Studios has made Halo Wars 2 more immersive due to the effects used.

Halo Wars 2 Review: Plot

Halo Wars 2 takes place after the occurrence of first Halo Wars and shortly after the Halo 5: Guardians. The prequel ends with the crew of the UNSC warship Spirit of Fire entering cryosleep and drifting into space. After the events of the first Halo Wars, the war between humanity and the Covenant, an alien race, has ended.

Halo Was 2 starts 28 years after the crew wakes up from the cryonic sleep that they entered into during the previous Halo Wars. With the game introducing a new antagonist, players would have more to look forward to in Halo Wars 2. 343 Industries and Creative Assembly had developed the Halo Wars 2 gameplay in a way that is easy to understand but requires several strategies to deploy effectively.

Meanwhile, the Halo Wars 2 multiplayer mode might differ depending on the platform played. PC users might have better gameplay experience because of the uncapped FPS it has in the game. This Halo Wars 2 review is currently for the Xbox One version since the full version of the PC version has not yet been released.
