This Istanbul nightclub attack update details more information about more victims and one who may have predicted her death before traveling to Turkey.
ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack, while the unnamed gunman is still at large.
Istanbul nightclub attack: Rita Chami’s “prediction”
The Lebanese Ministry of Communications confirmed that Rita Chami was among the victims of the attack.
Chami, who recently lost her mother to cancer, posted on her Facebook account:
Hopefully we will have fun [in Turkey], worst case scenario is that I will die in a blast and follow my mum.
A coincidence or an accurate prediction of her future, the 26-year-old, reportedly died in the arms of her fiance Elias Wardini–especially relevant that Wardini also died in the incident. (via Daily Mail)
Her Facebook page is memorialized, while cousin Ziad posted about her death:
At least 39 people were inside the Reina nightclub in Istanbul.
Per Buzzfeed, there are more than a dozen identified victims.
Lebanese Basketball sent condolences to both Wardini and Moussallem, who played in the league.
Karcilar, married, and also has a 3-year-old daughter. It is still not clear if Karcilar was working as a security guard on the night of the attack but it is possible. Probably because the club’s Facebook page posted a photo of her and three other victims: “Thank God for our friends who lost [their lives] in the treacherous attack.”
The police department honored him with a message of condolence on Facebook.
Indian Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj confirmed Khushi’s death, as well as that of another Indian national, on Twitter
