The new iPad 2018 may come as an interesting update in Apple’s line of tablets. As it is a much fresher iteration of its predecessor, the new iPad is, as expected, more powerful. One of the more interesting tweaks to it, however, is its support for the Apple Pencil. Here’s what you need to know.
New iPad 2018: What’s New?
For the most part, the new iPad still retains its sleek design. It is also available in the same selection of colors as its predecessor: silver, gold, and space gray. With this into account, the new iPad is near identical in terms of looks when compared to the iPad’s older model.
Its insides, however, are where it counts. With the utilization of Apple’s A10 Fusion chipset, along with an M10 motion co-processor, the new iPad runs significantly faster. Thanks to the updated chipset, the new iPad boasts of 50% faster graphics and a 40% raise in CPU performance. This also means that the new and improved iPad offers much more fluid user experience.
Furthermore, due to the improvements in hardware, the new iPad 2018 can run augmented reality games and apps. For a tablet in its price range, such a feature is one that is noteworthy and commendable.
One of the biggest features on the new iPad that is making waves across many circles is its integration of the Apple Pencil. As some may recall, the Apple Pencil was previously exclusive to the much pricier iPad Pro. The new iPad now offers the opportunity to utilize the Apple Pencil, making it an Apple tablet that offers more for the average consumer. It’s also worth noting that the new iPad not only supports the Apple Pencil, it is also compatible with other third-party styluses.
However, although the Apple Pencil is indeed compatible with the latest iPad, the accessory still performs superiorly on the iPad Pro. This is due to the iPad Pro’s laminated display, which makes for much smoother lines and pressure sensitivity with the Apple Pencil.
On the camera side of things, the new iPad carries the same specs as its predecessor. This means it has the same 8-megapixel rear camera (with f2.4 aperture) and 1.2-megapixel HD front camera. Both the new iPad and its 2017 iteration are capable of capturing videos at full HD.
