Star Wars: Episode VIII director Rian Johnson gave away some interesting Star Wars 8 spoilers. He talked about Episode VIII‘s tone, story, characters, and other important facts in detail.
Rian spoke about all the major and minor topics during his interview with USA Today. Though he seemed to be giving away a lot of details, it was just the right amount of information enough to get us more excited.
While talking about the tone of the movie, he said: “I want it to be a blast and to be funny and to be a ride the way The Force Awakens and the original Star Wars movies were.”

Actors of the film, including John Boyega, had earlier said that the movie is going to be bigger and darker. We all wonder what that means especially when The Force Awakens seems unbeatable.
Rian also revealed that the story will give more details about characters like Rey, Finn, and Poe Dameron. “I wanted to know more about each of them, and that doesn’t just mean information or backstory,” he explained.
“Figure out what’s the most difficult thing each of them could be challenged with now–let’s throw that at them and dig into what really makes them tick by seeing how they handle that.”
Rey and Luke Skywalker will have a better and stronger bond than ever. He will understand her powers better now when they are all grown up.
There will be a deepening of familial themes in the movie that will play important role in Rey’s life. This could be a reference to the mystery surrounding Rey’s parents. We might get to know who they are.
The first scenes may have Luke and Rey as the movie picks up after The Force Awakens. Expect a connection between the two movies. Many of us are left wondering about Luke Skywalker. Johnson says he is approaching it with an honest take. He wants it to be interesting to folks and make sense.
Star Wars: Episode VIII has got an official title which will be revealed later. The movie stars Laura Dern, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis. It is scheduled to release on Dec. 15.
